Organizational Profile
- The organization started working on its mission of social renewal in 1979 with a team of educated and dedicated people committed to restructuring of the society and establishing sound development among the people in Tamil Nadu especially Kanyakumari District and its surrounding areas.
- In the beginning, the organization operated under the Name Veeramamunivar Speaker’s Forum and focused mainly on public speaking at village level thereby attempted to generate social awakening among rural population.
- After a decade of excellent work, the group members gained abundant experience and skills in social awakening process which deepened their commitment to the society. At this juncture, the group expressed the need to systematize the programmes and decided to form a Trust. Consequently, the organization was registered under the Indian Trust Act in the name of Veeramamunivar Charitable Trust on 6th March 1992. In course of time the Trust was expanded to cover a spectrum of activities stated here under.
- We have constructed a multi-purpose building for social awareness centre. This building is utilized as a venue for conducting programmes such as elimination of illiteracy, imparting health care education, vocational guidance and counselling, seminars on inculcating qualities of leadership, social, cultural and ethical values in the youth and womenfolk.

The Mission Statement
To foster a process of ongoing change in favour of the rural poor in a way in which this process can be sustained by them through building and managing appropriate and innovative local level institutions rooted in values of justice, equity, and mutual support. To recreate a self-sustaining habitat based on a balanced perspective of the relationship between natural resources and the legitimate needs of people.
